This meeting is for those who would like to volunteer for the Children's peace Village. Our numbers are growing and the support and assistance of our comunity is paramount to our efforts in reaching out to children. Volunteer positions include marketing lead, activity leaders (art, music, drama, writing and more), Peacemakers (those who would like to be welcomed in a place of honor and tell their story of peace and social justice work to the children), snack servers, as well as those who will be present with the daily tasks and support of caring for the children. Please come with a calendar.
August 4-7, Peace Village 10:00am-3:00pm, Tuesday-Friday A childrens day camp
Join us for our third year of Peace Village where we invite children from Kindergarden to 8th grade to learn about the benefits and strengths of diversity, inclusivity, civic engagement, compassionate communication, media literacy and connecting with nature. We achieve this through art, creativity, storytelling, music and playfulness to foster community and a grounded sense of place.
Highlights: Cooperative games Art and music projects Conflict resolution, anger management Multigenerational and multicultural awareness High adult to child ratio Leadership training for 6th to 8th graders
Limited partial scholarships are available. Sliding scale $75-200 per child
