Kids for making Peace Village a special place!

Cultivate Positive Change!

Imagine a world where hope and visions of peace are part of everyday life.  Imagine a community where children are taught the tools needed for nonviolent communication and compassionate listening.  Imagine a happier, healthier future.

Imagine Peace Village.

Imagination and creativity combined with love of children and hope for a future is exactly how Peace Village came to be.

Snohomish Peace Village is a four-day youth educational program from August 4th to the evening of August 7th that provides fun experiences that foster heart-felt connections, lasting memories, and life habits that establish compassionate communication as a way of life.  The village is focused on children from K-8th grade.  During four days, over 60 children learn about non-violent communication, the benefits and strengths of diversity, inclusivity, civic engagement, and connecting with the land.  We express these values through art, creativity, storytelling, music, and fun to foster community and a grounded sense of place.  At Peace Village, children and adults have the opportunity to practice nonviolence and to appreciate and respect racial and cultural differences.

We provide children with an educational program full of cooperative games, art, music and friendship while providing an understanding of peacemaking through an awareness of the relationship between themselves, their community and its cultures, different faiths, and their environment.

It is certain that children, as well as their families, will not forget this experience.  We hope to bring it to more communities by sharing the vision and teaching them how to use compassionate communication as a tool.  We hope to help people create connectons with each other and to work together to create peaceful communities.  What may appear as an event is really a way of life.  Peace is a decision we can all make.
